Finding Our Power Together - McConnell Foundation Finding Our Power Together Background of the organization Finding Our Power Together (FOPT) is a national nonprofit based in Toronto, dedicated to supporting the mental health and well-being of Indigenous youth across Canada.
Established in 2016, FOPT focuses on providing culturally relevant mental health services, including traditional healing practices, land-based therapy, and mentorship. The organization is Indigenous-led, with a dedicated team of volunteers and board members who are committed to addressing the mental health challenges faced by youth in remote and underserved communities.
FundiNg will contribute to expanding the Mental Health Mentorship program for Indigenous youth aged 14-30 across Turtle Island. This will include online mentorship, on-the-land programming such as sweat lodges, and leadership workshops to train youth as mental health advocates and peer supporters, helping them build resilience and coping strategies for mental health challenges.
