FIRST Tech Challenge: Team Funding Grants | College of Engineering - The University of Iowa FIRST Tech Challenge: Team Funding Grants Through generous support from Collins Aerospace & John Deere, we are able to offer team grants to FTC teams in Iowa. We thank Collins Aerospace, John Deere and MidAmerican for sponsoring team grants for FIRST Tech Challenge teams in Iowa. Grant applications are typically open from May-September.
Collins Aerospace Team Funding In the past, Collins Aerospace has supported teams for a maximum of two years. Eligible teams for the John Deere funding are located within 50 miles of a John Deere facility. Primary locations include: Quad Cities, Dubuque, Des Moines, Paton, Ottumwa and Waterloo.
Teams need to be aware that these are grants and there is a possibility the demand of requests may be too many for John Deere to support. Eligible teams must complete the John Deere Inspire FIRST application form. MidAmerican has traditionally supported teams in their service area for the registration fees.
