Our program is not a loan and does not require payback! 2026 Grant Program Information / Guidelines The VHA is offering the First Time Homebuyer Grant Program (Grant Program) for interested Veterans who want to achieve the dream of home ownership.
The primary objective is to provide financial aid to qualifying Veterans on a continuing basis, which will be available to apply by first time military, veteran homebuyers and their families. The Grant Program is available to those who have not owned a home in the last three years with additional assistance to those who meet specific income limits as published by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Grant Program will provide closing cost assistance in the amount of up to five thousand U.S. dollars ($5,000. 00). The maximum grant amount available will be determined as follows: Grant Program Levels | 2026 Criteria Maximum Grant Amount Lvl 1 Level 1 + Moderate Income (120% AMI) $2,500.
00 Lvl 2 Level 2 + Low Income (80% AMI) $5,000. 00 *Please note: All applications will be reviewed in the order received and must provide a preapproval letter from a VHA-approved lending company. ** All of our grants are for the Inland Empire Area only.
