KCF is managed by the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma and is governed by a board of directors representing the Kingfisher area. All gifts made are tax-deductible. Originally established in 1993 as the Kingfisher Community Trust, KCF serves as a channel for the distribution of funds from donors to Kingfisher organizations that provide vital services to the community.
Originated by donors who want to improve life in Kingfisher, KCF reviews requests annually and awards grants to fulfill unmet local needs. Oklahoma Initiative Fund Grant Cycle The Oklahoma Initiative Fund, a permanent endowed fund of the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, was created to invest in the vitality of rural communities across our state.
Through this fund, CFO is committed to addressing urgent challenges and advancing opportunities that improve quality of life for Oklahomans Grants of up to $15,000 will be awarded to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations serving communities with populations of 50,000 or fewer .
Preference will be given to community-based organizations rooted in these towns and regions, with priority consideration for projects focused on mental health and homelessness —two of the most pressing issues facing Oklahoma’s rural communities today. While nonprofits based anywhere in Oklahoma may apply, the strongest consideration will be given to organizations located within and directly serving eligible communities.
