News | Delaware League of Local Governments 1) Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities $2-$250 million (BRIC). FEMA's BRIC grant program give states, local communities, tribes and territories funding to address future risks to natural disasters, including ones involving: wildfires, drought, hurricanes, earthquakes, extreme heat, and flooding. Addressing these risks helps make communities more resilient.
2) Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant Program $800 million (FMA). FMA funding is limited to flood mitigation activities to assist in efforts to reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage to buildings and structures insurable under the NFIP, particularly repetitive loss (RL) and severe repetitive loss (SRL) properties.
States, tribal governments, territories, and local communities apply for FMA grants through a competitive grant application process. The IIJA appropriated $3. 5 billion for the FMA program, with $700 million for each of FY2022 to FY2026.
3) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program $3 million (HGMP). FEMA's Hazard Mitigation Grant Program provides funding to state, local, tribal and territorial governments so they can develop hazard mitigation plans and rebuild in a way that reduces, or mitigates, future disaster losses in their communities. When requested by an authorized representative, this grant funding is available after a presidentially declared disaster.
