Folk Art and Beyond Grant

Folk Art and Beyond Grant is a program from Creative West that funds nonprofit organizations in the western United States working to preserve, present, and support traditional and folk arts. Formerly known as the Living Traditions grant, the program supports organizations that celebrate living cultural heritage, sustain folk and traditional arts practices, and connect communities to their artistic traditions.

Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations in the Creative West region, which includes the western states served by Creative West's network of state arts agencies. Awards are up to $1,000. The application deadline for the 2025-2026 cycle is June 30, 2026.

While many states ave already been funded, applications from American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), Montana, and Nevada are still being accepted. Support for arts and community organizations for the presentation of touring performers and literary artists within the Creative West region.

GO Smart is an affordable grants management software that offers pre- and post-application forms, panel reviewing, and data reporting for grantmakers. The Public Art Archive (PAA) is a free, searchable, and continually growing online database of completed public artworks throughout the U.S. and abroad, with a suite of resources and tools built for managing public art collections.

ZAPP provides art fair and festival administrators with a suite of tools to digitally collect and jury applications, manage booth payments, and communicate with applicants all in one easy-to-use digital platform. Artists can apply to hundreds of shows nationwide through a central website.
