Fondation Segré Conservation Action Fund - IUCN SOS Fondation Segré Conservation Action Fund The Fondation Segré Conservation Action Fund, running from 2021 to 2026, is funded by Fondation Segré through IUCN Save Our Species.

Funded by Fondation Segré and implemented by IUCN Save Our Species, the Fondation Segré Conservation Action Fund supports locally led, science-based action and research to protect threatened animal species and the habitats they depend on. The Fund focuses on underfunded species and conservation leaders across Asia, the Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, and the Middle East.

By directing flexible funding to where it can make the greatest difference, it enables practical conservation action on the ground while strengthening the next generation of conservation scientists.

Through targeted calls for proposals aligned with global conservation priorities, the Fund backs local civil society organisations, Indigenous and community groups, and early-career researchers, those closest to the species and ecosystems most at risk.

Since its launch, the Fondation Segré Conservation Action Fund has delivered measurable conservation outcomes: 84 projects supported across 41 countries 152 threatened species targeted, primarily Endangered and Critically Endangered Over €2.

6 million invested in frontline conservation 560,000+ hectares of land and water protected or managed, including 10,000+ hectares restored 77,000+ people directly benefiting, including more than 20,000 supported through sustainable livelihoods 3,800+ people trained , strengthening long-term local conservation capacity The Fund supports two complementary grant types: Conservation Action Grants Up to EUR 50,000 for local and national civil society organisations delivering practical conservation action for Vulnerable, Endangered, or Critically Endangered species.

Up to EUR 7,000 for young and early-career researchers , supporting field research that builds knowledge and informs effective conservation.
