Substantial Support for Projects That Boost Productivity, Safety, and Sustainability in Quebec’s Food Sector Quebec’s Food Processing Program (FPP-QC) is now open and offering up to $150,000 per project to help food processing businesses modernize operations, improve product safety, and reduce environmental impact.

This initiative is aimed at strengthening Quebec’s food sector by funding projects that drive productivity, upskill workforces, and promote sustainable practices. The FPP-QC provides 50% cost coverage to a maximum of $150,000 for eligible projects. To qualify, businesses must operate in Quebec and generate less than $200 million in gross annual revenue.

This funding is available to Quebec-based food processors with less than $200 million in annual gross revenue . If your business is preparing to grow, optimize operations, or improve food safety standards, this program is tailored to help fund that transformation.

Funding Amount : 50% of eligible project costs Maximum Contribution : $150,000 Deadline : September 30, 2025 or until funds are exhausted The FPP-QC supports projects under four strategic streams : 1. Project Planning & Skills Development Funding for training, feasibility studies, and planning activities to build internal capacity and strengthen operations.

Support for equipment purchases, process automation, and layout optimization to improve output and reduce costs. 3. Food Quality & Safety Management Implementation of advanced food safety systems, certifications, and traceability technologies to meet market and regulatory demands.

4. Slaughterhouse and Cheese Sector Sustainability Dedicated funding for businesses in these two sectors to reduce their environmental footprint and enhance long-term viability. The food processing sector is a cornerstone of Quebec’s economy, but rising costs, labour shortages, and tightening regulations demand investment in modernization and innovation.
