Food Safety Outreach Program (FSOP) | NIFA The lifecycle of grants and cooperative agreements consists of four phases: Pre-Award, Award, Post-Award, and Close Out. The National Institute of Food and Agriculture is committed to serving its stakeholders, Congress, and the public by using new technologies to advance greater openness.

Technical Assistance Webinar: The Equipment Grants Program (EGP) The Equipment Grants Program seeks to provide eligible institutions with the opportunity to acquire a shared-use piece of equipment/instrument that supports their research, research training, and extension goals. The National Institute of Food and Agriculture provides leadership and funding for programs that advance agriculture-related sciences.
Food Safety Outreach Program (FSOP) All Applicants Must Have an eRA Commons Account to Apply This program is being managed in the eRA Grants Management System as part of NIFA’s ongoing Grants Modernization Initiative (GMI) . To apply for this program’s NOFO(s), all applicants must have an eRA Commons account registered with their organization.

NIFA’s Food Safety Outreach Competitive Grant Program (FSOP) focuses on delivering customized training to community members via Community Outreach Projects and Collaborative Education and Training projects. The program supports developing grant writing and technical assistance resources.
This includes on-farm and on-site training and/or technical assistance that focuses on pre- and post-harvest water testing and sampling, soil amendments, developing supply chain programs, and/or developing food safety plans.
Applications may be submitted by the following eligible applicants: Cooperative Extension Service for a U.S. state or territory Non-government organizations and/or community-based organizations Organizations representing owners and operators of farms, small food processors, or small fruit and vegetable merchant wholesalers that have a commitment to public health and expertise in administering programs that contribute to food safety Federal, state, local, or tribal agencies.
