The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) provides federal funding to supplement the work of local social service organizations to provide emergency food and shelter to people experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, homelessness or hunger. The National Board, chaired by FEMA, allocates funds to local boards (like the one in Clark County, administered by United Way of Southern Nevada) which then distribute funds to eligible local recipient organizations (LROs).
