Foundation for Academic Nursing Foundation for Academic Nursing Our members educate the future nursing workforce. By giving to the Foundation for Academic Nursing, you are helping us support our member schools to provide quality nursing education needed to prepare clinicians, scientists, faculty, and leaders to care for the nation.
The Foundation for Academic Nursing was launched in 2020 to support the mission of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) to serve as the catalyst for excellence and innovation in nursing education, research, and practice. Guided by an advisory committee with education, corporate, and philanthropic leaders, the Foundation is the focal point for supporting the needs of AACN member schools, their faculties, and students.
Through partnerships with donors, the Foundation has a goal of strengthening the nursing workforce through supporting nurse educators and their students to reach their full potential.

Administered by the Foundation for Academic Nursing, each AACN 2 : Pathway to Critical Care Nursing Scholarship provides $2,500 in support to eligible students enrolled in entry-level baccalaureate programs who are committed to providing expert care to patients at their most vulnerable. View Past Foundation News Receiving the AACN Faculty Scholars Grant allowed me to introduce a new form of simulation to my students.
Using immersive virtual reality, students have been able to experience primary care that may not have happened otherwise. Students are asking for more of this type of learning and sharing great ideas with how virtual reality can be used to enhance nursing education.
