The Foundation manages competitive grant programs for our fundholders, initiatives and regional affiliates that invest in communities throughout our region. Nonprofits are invited to apply for grants from these programs, which vary in size, application process and funding focus.

Our competitive grantmaking programs are open to: Congregations, churches and religious organizations If your organization does not meet these criteria, you can apply for a grant under the fiscal sponsorship of an eligible organization. Churches that do not have 501(c)(3) public charity status may still qualify as eligible charities.

Eligibility of churches to receive FFTC grants is determined using the guidance provided in IRS Publication 1828. Step 1: Find the right grant Visit the Online Grants Center to review the investment areas and geographic guidelines of the grants we offer.

Step 2: Complete the application Once you select a grant program, the application will require information such as community needs your program will address, how you'll evaluate results, and your budget and other funding sources. For more information, review a sample application . Step 3: Grant applications reviewed Your grant application will be reviewed by staff, committee members and/or a grantmaking board.

Program staff will notify you if more information is needed. Step 4: Award and decline decisions made Once a final decision is made, you'll receive notification in writing or by phone. Step 5: Reporting on the grant’s results If your grant is approved, you'll be asked to submit a report to show impact of the program and confirm the funds were used for the intended purpose.
