United Methodist Foundation West Virginia | Grants Information About Foundation Sunday The Foundation offers grants from a tithe of our anticipated revenue. We also administer grants for the West Virginia Annual Conference (Conference).
Below you will find descriptions of each grant program, application information, and key deadlines Foundation Grants support outward-focused ministries - addressing the needs of the poor, lost, and marginalized - helping Annual Conference and other nonprofit ministries accomplish their missions through funding for new, innovative, or acutely needed projects.
The Foundation Grants Committee makes grant awards based on the Guidelines found at this link. We accept applications throughout the year and award grants in two cycles. We publish deadlines and consider all applications submitted by the respective deadlines.
To apply for a grant, please use our Grant Application. Deadlines for the 2026 Foundation Grant Cycle are February 28 and July 31. The Foundation administers several Conference grants, including: Faith Communities ReNEWal Ministry Grants support church revitalization and new faith community development.
Virginia Higgins Grants fund ministries focused on childcare, health care, senior services, and support for people with disabilities. Glenwood Park Grants provide resources for ministries serving older adults and people with disabilities.
Ethnic Ministries Grants support congregations, teams, or individuals who are engaging in equity and anti-racism work and who are advocating for, encouraging, and empowering underrepresented ethnic or immigrant communities. Ethnic Local Church Concerns Grants focus on assisting historically African American or other minority-ethnic congregations of the West Virginia Conference with capital improvements.

The Homeless Youth Program is a grant from the Illinois Department of Human Services that funds services for homeless and at-risk youth across Illinois.
