Four Pines Fund is a philanthropic organization dedicated to expanding access to evidence-based suicide care to all who need it.

Effective suicide care has been demonstrated to reduce suicide attempts and deaths by up to 75% 25% decline in suicide attempts in the 90 days following a primary care visit at practices in WA that integrated effective suicide care up to 70% fewer suicide attempts over 1 year at clinics in NY that followed effective suicide care practices more closely than their counterparts 75% drop in the rate of suicide deaths over 4 years in a major U.S. health system that incorporated effective suicide care into inpatient and outpatient services Suicide care is a set of practices, backed by extensive research, that focus on how to identify, engage, and treat people who are experiencing suicidal thoughts or behaviors.

Delivered effectively, suicide care reduces suicide risk, decreases suffering, and cultivates hope. In 2023, they launched Four Pines Fund to increase access to the best suicide care models nationally and in their home state of Vermont.

Suicidal suffering is a particularly horrendous kind of suffering. And suicide attempts and deaths are far too prevalent, causing lasting injuries to those who survive, including loved ones, caregivers, sometimes whole communities. We believe that improving the quality of suicide care will save lives and result in immeasurable good for many.
