The purpose of the program is to provide resources to the GIS community that will assist OGIC in reaching its vision... Authoritative, reliable geospatial data are available and accessible when and where needed to support the equitable provision of services across the state of Oregon.

The Data Development Grant Program funding cycle typically aligns with the State's biennial budget cycle on odd-numbered years. The next request for proposals is expected in the first quarter of 2025.
How are the grants funded? The Framework Data Development Grant Program is funded by the Oregon Geographic Information Council. Is funding allowed to be used on efforts to develop data standards and stewardship plans?
Yes, OGIC does encourage and support work towards developing standards and stewardship plans for geospatial Framework data. What is the indirect costs or F&A policy? Can these costs be included in our budget?
Unfortunately, no. Please read the full OGIC policy for more information. How are projects selected for funding? All proposed projects are scored based how well projects align with the Framework Program mission and goals, best practices, and Oregon policies.
Projects aligning with the Governors’ priorities or OGIC priorities (filling gaps, improving accuracy, increasing update frequency) will be prioritized for funding. Would a project that develops a data distribution tool be eligible for funding? Yes, projects that further the OGIC’s and the Framework Program’s goal to increase data accessibility are encouraged.
