The Franconia Fellowship is a residency grant from Franconia Sculpture Park that supports mid-career artists working in sculpture, installation, land art, ceramics, contemporary craft, experimental sound and music, and performance art. Fellows receive a $7,500 stipend along with a self-directed residency at Franconia's 50-acre outdoor sculpture park in Minnesota, where they fabricate and install work for public exhibition.
Residency stays range from two to six weeks. Artists working in object-based media reside on-site, while performance artists receive a stipend and professional development opportunities. The application deadline is June 8, 2026.
This fellowship is open to individual artists working in three-dimensional and time-based media.

FRANCONIA FELLOWSHIP RESIDENCY The Franconia Fellowship supports mid-career artists working in sculpture and installation, including land art, ceramics, contemporary craft, experimental sound/music, and performance art. Fellowships for artists making object-based work offer a self-directed residency and $7500 stipend to fabricate and install work for exhibition in the 50-acre outdoor sculpture park.
These fellows also stay on-site between two – six weeks within the timeframes offered; residency dates will be scheduled directly with the residency director. Fellowships for artists working in performance include a $7500 stipend and dynamic professional opportunities .

Croix River which also holds significance by the Ojibwe and other Native peoples. We recognize, support and advocate for all Native nations and will actively center Native voices in our work. The grounds of Franconia Sculpture Park are open 365 days a year from 8am-8pm.

org There is no admission fee to Franconia Sculpture Park but visitors are encouraged to make a donation of any amount. Donations can be made through QR code displayed on our parking lot signage, in orange cash boxes throughout the park, or inside the Franconia Commons building.
