The FT Strategies AI Lab, supported by the Google News Initiative, is a 23-week programme for ambitious, digitally established publishers across EMEA who are ready to move beyond isolated AI experiments and embed AI at the core of their business strategy.
Over six months, participants undertake an AI-readiness audit, design a long-term AI roadmap, and deliver a capstone project that tests or scales a key element of their strategy. The journey begins with a comprehensive assessment of current capabilities across technical, operational and commercial dimensions, helping to identify the foundations required to scale AI responsibly.
These insights are then translated into a prioritised roadmap aligned with strategic goals, governance frameworks and investment plans. In the final phase, participants enter a focused sprint to test part of the roadmap. This may involve scaling an existing initiative, redesigning a workflow, or piloting an AI-first product.
Throughout the programme, they are supported by FT Strategies consultants and inspired by expert sessions with Google, the Financial Times and peers from across the industry.
