##### The FUEL Proof of Concept Fund will help transition technologies from fundamental research to commercial applications in Louisiana. Typical awards will be between $100,000 - $125,000, with a maximum award of $200,000. The Principal Investigator/Entrepreneur must complete the project in 12 months.
##### **Deadline for submissions is Sunday, November 17 @ 12:00 midnight Central. ** If applicant is a university researcher,applicant must include a one-page letter of acknowledgement from the applicant’s primary technology transfer office or equivalent office of research.
The office must confirm that: * The innovation is under active management by that office * Steps have been taken or will be taken to protect the intellectual property development from the innovation ### **Eligible Participants** * Faculty and staff at Louisiana universities. * Startups headquartered in Louisiana. * Non-Louisiana companies with a presence in Louisiana and registered with the Louisiana Secretary of State office.
### **Successful Applicants Will:** * Propose prototypes, testable embodiments of inventions, and minimally viable products * Be companies or applicants intending to start companies. ### **Eligible Innovations** Innovations must fit into a designated Technical Area as defined by the FUEL proposal.
* Reduction of Industrial CO2 Emissions through Carbon Capture, Usage, and Subsurface Sequestration (CCUS) * Sustainable Industrial Hydrogen (h2) Economy * Energy Efficiency and CO2 as a Feedstock * Sustainable Water Management for Innovation Energy and Hydrogen Transition * Structural Integrity and Sustainable Manufacturing for Energy and Hydrocarbon Transition * Equipment (20%, exceptions made on a case-by-case basis with justification).
* Travel for customer discovery. * Professional services that can be justified as necessary for further support of commercialization. * University: Faculty, Graduate students, staff * Funds are intended to support further commercialization of an innovation through experimental proof‐of‐concept.
Excessive salaries and F&A may result in lower proposal scores. * Tuition reimbursement of students NOT allowed. * Indirect Costs will be calculated at the applicants federally approved F&A rates.
