2025-2026 Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Award - Welcome to 2025-2026 Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Award 2025-2026 Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Award 2025-2026 Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Award The Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrators Award (IEA) aims to provide Indian college and university administrators the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the U.S. higher education system.

The two-week U.S. visit in March/April 2026 will enable participants to learn about various facets of U.S. higher education, including the types of institutions, accreditation, curriculum development, fund-raising, student services and international education on U.S. campuses, as well as share knowledge on Indian higher education.

Topics addressed during visits and meetings at select campuses and organizations will also include research collaborations, faculty and student exchanges, and study abroad. This award is designed for Indian college and university administrators with at least two years of experience in international program development and management at their institutions in India.

Applicants must be middle to senior-level college or university administrators (vice-chancellors, deans, directors of international centers or offices, foreign student advisors, registrars etc.) who have substantial responsibility for enhancing the international dimension of their institutions and who wish to build capacity of their faculty and students through international collaborations and exchange and innovative curricular design.

Selected participants will receive J-1 visa support, Accident and Sickness Program for Exchanges per U.S. Government guidelines, round-trip economy class air travel from India to the U.S., travel within the U.S., lodging and a per-diem. Dependents are not allowed to accompany during the award.

In addition to the General Prerequisites should be mid to senior-level college or university administrators (vice-chancellors, deans, directors of international centers/offices, foreign student advisors, or registrars etc.) working at Indian institutions; must have at least two years’ experience in the relevant field; should have the responsibility of enhancing the international dimension of their institutions and should wish to build capacity of their faculty and students through international collaborations and exchange and innovative curricular design; Should have demonstrated leadership in one or more of the following areas: implementing multidisciplinary education, research and innovation initiatives, technology integration and digital learning strategies, institutional governance and autonomy frameworks, and programs promoting student well-being; and should have a high level of academic/professional achievement.

Employees of the Government of India and Indian State Governments are not eligible for any Fulbright-Nehru Fellowships. This includes civil servants in central services (such as IAS, IPS, IRS, IFS, and allied services), state government services (including state civil services), and bureaucratic staff employed in central and state ministries or departments. Plagiarism in the application will lead to disqualification. Some US universities and colleges have developed and published policies on the use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) on applications for admission or affiliation with their institution. Some institutions may scan applications for the use of language produced by GenAI.

While individual institutional policies range widely and policy responses from US universities will continue to evolve, copying language/content produced by GenAI directly into your application may negatively impact admission or affiliation decisions. Applications received after the deadline will NOT be considered. Incomplete applications will be rejected.

Extensions and Transfer of visa sponsorship will not be permitted. Prospective Fulbright participants should be aware that public health conditions, availability of consular services and travel, as well as U.S. institutional operating status and policies may affect their ability to travel to the U.S. and participate in academic programs.
