Middle East & North Africa For information on programs in the Europe & Eurasia Region: 2027-2028 Europe & Eurasia Program Information Applicants, including graduating seniors, are encouraged to consider study/research opportunities in countries that traditionally do not attract large numbers of applicants: Armenia, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Slovak Republic, and Slovenia.
Applicants interested in overseas territories of a European country should consult the Program Manager for Europe before beginning an application.
English Teaching Assistant Programs are available to: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, North Macedonia, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Spain, Switzerland, and Turkey (Türkiye).
Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine Study/Research Awards are not available to: Albania, Andorra, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Malta, and Montenegro. Multi-country proposals will be considered for the following country pairs: Bulgaria-Romania, Bulgaria-Greece, and Greece-Turkey (Türkiye). According to the current listing, eligibility includes: U.S. citizens currently enrolled in undergraduate/graduate programs or with a bachelor's degree and limited professional experience (typically 7 years or less); artists with similar experience limits are also eligible.
