The program provides a cash benefit to the funeral director when the deceased individual was either already receiving assistance or met the eligibility requirements of a program administered by the Department of Human Services.
Such programs may include: Public Assistance to Adults (PAA) Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) Temporary Disability Assistance Program (TDAP) Supplemental Security Income (SSI) A newborn child who was not receiving Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) may also be eligible. The following expenses may be excluded when counting funeral expenses. Verification of assets, death and funeral arrangements are required.
