The new UTHealth Houston Future Nurses Fund makes tuition and fees free for qualifying students enrolled full time in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at Cizik School of Nursing. The Future Nurses Fund makes full coverage of Cizik School of Nursing’s already low in-state tuition and fees available to current and newly accepted students who qualify.
It supplements other forms of financial aid, such as scholarships and grants awarded by UTHealth Houston or state/federal government programs. Grants will automatically be awarded to current and newly accepted students who meet program qualifications. A separate application is not required, and the grants will be available for four consecutive semesters to students who continue to meet academic requirements.
Grants from the fund will be applied after other financial aid so that all tuition and mandatory fees are free to qualifying students. The Future Nurses Fund does not cover books, parking, uniforms, and other expenses. You must be a Texas resident.
You must not have previously earned a bachelor’s degree in any field. Your earnings cannot exceed $100,000 in annual gross adjusted income. You must have a GPA of 3.
00 or higher on all prerequisites and each required science course. You must enroll full-time in Cizik School of Nursing’s BSN program. Current students receiving grants from the Future Nurses Fund must: Maintain a GPA 2.
5 or higher. Remain on track as a full-time student in the BSN program. (Withdrawal from a course will make a student ineligible the following semester.)
Remain in good academic standing Take your first step toward our full-ride BSN opportunity. Complete the prerequisites . Include UTHealth Houston code (013956) on your completed FAFSA form .
Complete the HESI A2 Entrance Exam or TEA S . * Apply to Cizik School of Nursing through the NCAS system for fall, spring, or summer admission. Apply now to the BSN program.
*You may choose to apply to our Pre-Nursing Pathway to take your science prerequisites for the Pacesetter accelerated BSN option. Students who earn a grade of “B” or better in each required science course in the Pre-Nursing curriculum will be eligible to apply for direct admission to the Pacesetter BSN program without taking nursing school entrance exams.
