The Guam Council on the Arts and Humanities Agency was established in 1967 by the late Dr. Pedro Sanchez under the University of Guam and was then called the Insular Arts Council (IAC). The agency was dedicated to the development of programs in music, visual arts, cultural heritage, literature, and arts education.
Guam CAHA's programs are numerous and include the issuance of grants to individuals and organizations for the perpetuation of the arts and culture of our island, such as folk arts projects, visual arts displays and exhibits, and music and theatre productions to name a few.
During these challenging times, in an effort to better understand the community of artists on Guam, CAHA has created this survey to inform us of the capabilities, practice and needs of Guam’s artists. Please take a moment to complete and submit this short survey. Your response will help us as we plan and develop future programs and activities.

To stimulate and encourage the study and presentation of the performing and fine arts and public interest and participation therein. To help develop and sustain existing independent institutions of the arts by providing technical assistance in strengthening administrative and fund-raising techniques.
To provide for the exhibition of art works in public buildings; to administer the art bank purchases and to make policies therefore. To bring the highest quality in the arts to the Territory, to promote the opportunity for people to experience, enjoy and profit from the arts and humanities. To serve as sole government agency for administering any state plan of the National Endowment for the Arts and/or Humanities.
