Check Out the "6 Steps to Prepare for Montgomery County Grants" Check Out the Current MCG Grants Program Forecast Special Notice – Proposed Changes to the Federal Uniform Guidance on Grants Organizations that receive federal grants should be aware that the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed significant changes to the set of standard rules called the Uniform Guidance ( 2 CFR 200 ).

These changes may have significant impact on organizations that rely on federal grants (including State and other passthrough funds). A public comment period is open until July 13, 2026. Federal grantees are encouraged to research the potential implications of the changes and if right for your organization, to submit comments.

A good place to begin research is with educational materials and a call to action provided by the National Council of Nonprofits . FY27 Community Grant Renewals: O rganizations with a current (FY26) Community Grant multi-year award should have received a Notification Letter on June 23, 2026 from OGM offering them the opportunity to submit a renewal application for an FY27 Community Grants award.

FY27 Legacy Grant Renewals: O rganizations with a current (FY26) Legacy Renewal multi-year award should have received a Notification Letter on June 23 or June 24, 2026 from OGM offering them the opportunity to submit a renewal application for an FY27 Legacy Renewal award. The Notification Letter included links to the application module, detailed instructions, compliance next steps, and other resources.

Coming Soon (Next 30 Days) FY26 Fair Housing Testing Services Grant Program — CDBG-Funded: ( Mid July 2026 ) The goal of this grant program is to solicit applications from eligible nonprofits or civil rights organizations with expertise in fair housing testing.

$20,000 in total grant funding will be made available for awarded grantees to identify and analyze evidence of housing discrimination discovered through its fair housing testing in the County. FY27 Community Youth Mental Health and Substance Use Initiatives Grants Program : (Anticipated launch during late July 2026) .

The department of Health and Human Services will solicit grant applications that will be awarded from Juul and Altria settlement funds to support youth programming initiatives focused on vaping cessation, mental health, and substance use prevention. While changes may be made in FY26, see the FY25 Youth Mental Health and Substance Use Grants Program application page for information on last year’s competition.

Status of Closed, but not Awarded, Grant Programs FY26 Fentanyl Use, Overdose, and Death Reduction Grant Program : The application window for this program closed on June 3, 2026. Applications are currently under review.

Due to a funding issue, awards are expected to be issued with FY27 funds and not FY26 resources. FY26 Nonprofit Federal Resilience (NFR) Grant Program : The results for the applications that met the Priority Deadline have been approved and OGM has transmitted Notification Letters to all applicants. Some applications that did not meet the Priority Deadline remain under review and will receive results notifications at a later date.

FY26 Emerging Business Improvement District (EBID) Grant Program : The application window for this grant program closed on March 2, 2026. 501(c)3 nonprofits and schools may apply for projects that expand access to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education for students. The maximum grant is $7,500. OpenAI Foundation: The People-First AI Fund - FY 2026 : Applications due July 15, 2026.

Nonprofits may apply for unrestricted funds to continue co-creating with communities and exploring how practical, community-led engagement with artificial intelligence (AI) can reduce barriers to services and information, expand opportunity, and elevate community voice and participation. Grants will be 10% of an organization’s annual budget, up to $1,000,000.

US HUD Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program (SHOP) : Applications due July 15, 2026.

Public and private nonprofit entities, faith-based organizations, or a consortium may apply to purchase home sites and develop or improve the infrastructure needed to set the stage for sweat equity and volunteer-based homeownership programs serving low-income persons and families, including first-responders, veterans, and persons with disabilities. The maximum award is $12,000,000.

USDA Community Food Projects Competitive Grants Program : Applications due July 16, 2026. Nonprofits, nongovernmental organizations, Cooperative Extension Services, Regional Food System Centers, and Institutions of Higher Education may apply to foster understanding of national food security trends and how they might improve local food systems. The maximum award is $400,000.

US HHS Treatment and Recovery Services for Youth, Young Adults, and Families Grant : Applications due July 16, 2026.

Public and private nonprofit entities, including faith-based organizations may apply to enhance comprehensive treatment and recovery services for children (ages 11 and under), adolescents (ages 12-17) and young adults (ages 18-25) with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring substance use and mental disorders and their families/primary caregivers. The maximum award is $545,000.

US HHS Services Program for Residential Treatment for Pregnant and Postpartum Women Grant : Applications due July 16, 2026. Public and private nonprofit entities, including faith-based organizations may apply to provide comprehensive services for pregnant and postpartum women with substance use disorders across the continuum of residential settings that support treatment and sustain recovery. The maximum award is $525,000.

USDA Food Safety Outreach Program Technical Assistance-Grant Writing Skills Projects : Applications due July 20, 2026. Nonprofits, Cooperatives, Institutions of Higher Education, or collaborations may apply to provide training, education, and technical assistance that helps producers and processors comply with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The maximum award is $300,000.

USDA Food and Agriculture Service Learning Program (FASLP) : Applications due July 20, 2026. Nonprofits, foundations, Institutions of Higher Education, individuals, and research organizations may apply to support projects that to increase knowledge of agriculture and improve the nutritional health of children. The maximum award is $230,000.

US HHS Protecting and Rehabilitating Sexually Exploited Women and Girls Through Long-Term Safe Homes : Applications due July 20, 2026.

Nonprofits, local government entities, schools and educational institutions, and eligible for-profit organizations may apply to address sexual violence by providing safe homes for sexually exploited and/or abused women or girls, sufficient to serve the rehabilitative needs of the populations served, along with comprehensive multidisciplinary care that addresses the physical, psychological, emotional, social, and educational needs of the girls and/or women they serve.

The maximum grant is $2,000,000. US HHS Alzheimer's Disease Programs Initiative (ADPI) - State and Community Grant Program (Option B) : Applications due July 22, 2026. 501(c)3 nonprofits, local government entities, schools, and educational institutions may apply to support and promote the development and expansion of dementia-capable home and community-based service (HCBS) systems.

Bank of America: Art Conservation Project - FY 2027 : Applications due September 30, 2026. Nonprofit museums and cultural institutions may apply to support the conservation of works of art significant to the cultural heritage of the country or region, or important in the history of art; art must be on view to the public, or be on view once the conservation project is completed. The Wawa Foundation Breast Cancer Awareness Fund - FY 2026 : Applications due October 31, 2026. 501(c)3 nonprofits may apply to mark the importance of Breast Cancer Awareness month and support causes related to those impacted by breast cancer in the areas of health, hunger, and everyday heroes. The maximum grant is $2,500.

The Larry Fitzgerald Foundation - FY 2026 : Applications accepted on a rolling basis. 501(c)3 nonprofits may apply to provide equitable access and new pathways for success for under-represented communities in the areas of youth education and breast cancer awareness. The maximum grant is $5,000.

Maximum award is $5000. First Responders Children's Foundation (FRCF): Community Engagement Grant : Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, first come first served until funds are spent. This program helps foster healthy relationships between first responders and the children in the communities they serve, while also inspiring a new generation that may have an interest in a first responder career.

Maximum award is $5000. Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination Alliance: Mini-Grants Program : Applications are due July 24, 2026. TEA is offering Mini-Grants to organizations serving communities at increased risk for TB.

Applicants must be from or working directly with organizations that serve communities at increased risk for TB. Maximum award is $15,000. Toshiba America Foundation (TAF): Grants for Grades K-5 : Applications are due October 1, 2026.

Grants support classroom teachers who have ideas for their students to get excited about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). This program is dedicated to supporting project-based learning with tangible outcomes. Maximum award is $1,000.

Morgan Stanley Foundation: Morgan Stanley Alliance for Children's Mental Health : Children's Mental Health Innovation Awards: Applications are due July 24, 2026. Grants support direct service nonprofit organizations to implement new or piloted projects that will help address the far-reaching challenge of stress, anxiety, depression or other mental health issues in children and young adults. Maximum award is $100,000.

Integra Foundation: Grants : Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The foundation focuses on medical education in regenerative medicine, plastic and reconstructive surgery, wound care, neurosurgery, neurotrauma, and neuromonitoring. Grants are for projects supporting people affected by diseases and conditions within these focus areas, including patient support organizations and patient camps.

Open to a variety of organizations preparing advanced degree nursing students to serve as nurse faculty can apply to operate a student loan program for advanced nursing education students and train students to become nurse faculty or preceptors. Nonprofits, community-based organizations, and other health and wellness organizations may apply to support initiatives that strengthen HIV prevention and treatment literacy through education, materials development, outreach, and community-led engagement for women and adolescent girls in all their diversity. The maximum grant is $50,000. Gainbridge Assists Powered by Parity Grant Program FY 2026 : Applications due July 10, 2026.

A wide range of nonprofits, government and academic organizations, schools, and private sector entities may apply to support camps, clinics, and events that will expand access to sports and education for girls and women. Proposed events may address all sports or focus on education for girls and women. The maximum grant is $250,000.

Native Americans in Philanthropy Indigenous Tomorrows Fund FY 2026 : Applications due July 14, 2026. Native-led and Native-serving organizations may apply to support programs that honor Indigenous wisdom, strengthen the self-determination of Native communities, or support emerging leaders and their vision for a thriving future. The maximum grant is $100,000.

The Summerlee Foundation and United Spay Alliance Summerlee Sustainable Solutions Grant Program FY 2026 : Applications due July 15, 2026. 501(c)3 nonprofits and municipal entities may apply for monetary awards and technical assistance and tools to strengthen and expand community cat spay/neuter efforts. The maximum grant is $8,000.

Smart Growth America Community Connectors Program FY 2026 : Applications due July 17, 2026. A wide range of nonprofits, government and academic organizations, schools, and consortia may apply for help to advance locally driven projects to reconnect communities separated or harmed by transportation infrastructure. Awards include technical training, $25,000 for implementation, and $20,000 of engineering support.

MDOT Purple Line Business Assistance Grants : Applications due July 31 or November 7, 2026. Eligible small businesses may apply for small grants to help offset disruptions and support business continuity along the Purple Line construction corridor. The maximum grant is $50,000.

American Psychological Foundation Direct Action Visionary Grants FY 2026 : Applications due July 31, 2026. A wide range of nonprofits, government and academic organizations, schools, and private sector entities may apply to support innovative interventions, based on psychological knowledge, that directly address pressing needs of communities. Past grants have been less than $10,000. Pool and Hot Tub Alliance Step Into Swim FY 2026 : Applications due September 15, 2026. A wide range of nonprofits, government organizations, schools, and private sector entities may apply to support quality and multilevel learn-to-swim programs that will expand opportunities for children to learn to swim who otherwise could not afford to participate in swim lesson programs.

The maximum grant is $50,000. American Camp Association Character at Camp Grants FY2026 (Planning, Implementation, and Network Implementation Grants): Applications due October 1, 2026. 501(c)3 nonprofits and local government organizations that offer day or overnight camp programming may apply for support with in starting, enhancing, expanding, or celebrating character development programs or projects.

The maximum planning grant is $50,000, implementation grant is $200,000, and network implementation grant is $300,000.
