General Grant Fund is sponsored by Various state and local agencies. Provides funding for various community initiatives, including domestic violence prevention.

They offer a funding stream for specific projects that might otherwise have to be funded through the General Fund, if they would even be pursued at all. This page provides a listing of available grant programs through both the federal government and the state government. It will be updated as application windows open and close and as new programs are announced.

Two notes regarding the "Eligibility Criteria" column in the tables below: First, only the criteria under which county governments can apply are listed.

An entry of "county governments" is not meant to imply that the grant is available to only counties. Second, some of the grant programs listed below may not be available to county governments. These are listed because, while the county itself may be unable to apply, other organizations such as non-profits may be able to, and the purpose of the grant is one of value that counties may recommend organizations apply for.

Rural Health Transformation Program To improve health behaviors associated with cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and obesity in rural areas, and to strengthen rural communities by improving healthcare access, quality and outcomes by transforming the current system.

Public health departments serving a non-urban county (Map available on page 18 of the linked PDF) Brownfield Remediation Program To assist in the remediation of hazardous substances or petroleum at industrial, commercial, or institutional properties. Precinct Election Official Recruitment and Training Grant To provide assistance in the recruitment and training of precinct election officials for the 2026 November general election.

Healthy Homes Production Grant Program To address multiple childhood diseases and injuries in the home by focusing on housing-related hazards in a coordinated fashion, rather than addressing a single hazard at a time.

Local "leverage" required (see full description for explanation) Local Law Enforcement Grants for Enforcement of Cybercrimes Program To support the prevention, enforcement, and prosecution of cybercrimes against individuals (defined as criminal offenses that involve the use of a computer to harass, threaten, stalk, extort, coerce, cause fear to, or intimidate an individual, or without consent distribute intimate images of an adult).

Wetland Mitigation Banking Program To support the development and establishment of mitigation banks and banking opportunities solely for agricultural producers with wetlands subject to the wetland conservation compliance provisions of the Food Security Act of 1985 (as amended).

Local match of 20% of project cost Consolidated Youth Grant Program To support community-based efforts to develop or expand prevention, intervention, treatment, and response strategies addressing the needs of children and youth (ages 0-24) affected by domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sex trafficking. It also supports work with men and youth to prevent those crimes.

Training and Services to End Abuse in Later Life Program To support a comprehensive approach to addressing abuse in later life, including domestic/dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, neglect, abandonment, economic abuse, or willful harm committed against victims who are 50 years of age or older.

Low or No Emission Bus Grant Program To support the purchase or lease of low-emission and zero-emission transit buses, including acquisition, construction, and leasing of required supporting facilities. Local governments that operate fixed-route bus service.

Local match of 20% required (some exceptions apply) Buses and Bus Facilities Program To support the purchase, rehabilitate, or lease of buses and related equipment, and to support the construction, purchase, rehabilitation, or lease of bus-related facilities. Local governments that operate fixed-route bus service.

Local match of 20% required (some exceptions apply) North American Wetlands Conservation Act Standard To support projects that involve long-term protection, restoration, and/or enhancement of wetlands and associated uplands habitats for the benefit of all wetlands-associated migratory birds.

1-to-1 local match required Title X Family Planning Services Grants To promote the general family planning programs and goals under Title X of the Public Health Service Act. Maximum award: $22 million Local match of between 1% and 10% Meet the commissioners, executives, and council members leading Ohio’s 88 counties and working to build a stronger Ohio.
