A novel provision in the May 29 OMB rewrite of 2 CFR Part 200 requires recipients of federal financial assistance to apply viewpoint-neutral terms to event services on any property they control — regardless of whether the event is federally funded. The provision lands hardest on the 3,069 county governments, the research universities that hold dispersed campus venues, and the community-based nonprofits that own meeting space.
