General Operating Support Grant The General Operating Support funding cycle for FY26 and FY27 has closed.

GOS grants are for Utah-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or government agencies that are: Arts organizations - organizations with a primarily arts-based mission.
Museums - Art & non-art museums with a physical location in Utah that are open to the public and maintain an active collection Designated Local Arts Agencies - (through the Division of Arts & Museums) that function as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization, government agency, or a hybrid of the two. How Do We Apply for GOS funds? Organizations may choose to apply through either the full or simplified application.
Deciding which application to use is based on budget and expected grant award amount. The simplified application is primarily for organizations with budgets of $20,000 or less, or organizations with budgets over $20,000 that historically receive modest grant awards ($6,000). Organizations with annual revenue of less than $5,000 are not eligible for GOS and can contact the Grants Team to learn about other options.
The Utah Arts & Museums team has worked with grantees, a task force of the Arts & Museums Advisory Board , and UA&M subject matter experts to refine the grants process. The guidelines provide important details about the applications. Starting in February , you may access the application through our online grants portal . You will need a portal account to access our grant applications. If you do not have one, please submit a new user request through the portal or contact the grants staff.

Other budget forms will not be accepted. NEW THIS YEAR: The budget form now includes a sample budget and a short slideshow with helpful tips on how to complete the budget form. Note: In order to provide more transparency in our grant process, we are including the scoring rubrics that will be used by GOS review panelists.
You may refer to these rubrics as you are completing your application. 663. 8457. ▸ How do I comply with HB 261 - Equal Opportunity Initiatives?
General Operating Support grants are funded primarily with state dollars. Grantees should familiarize themselves with HB 261 Equal Opportunity Initiatives (2024 General Session). Per state law, grant funds may not be used for prohibited discriminatory practices as defined in Utah Code 53B-1-118 .
When crafting your grant narrative, be sure to adhere to the guidance in HB261. ▸ What supporting/required documents will I need to submit an application? You will need the following documents for any grant you apply for through UA&M: UEI Number: All organizations will need a Unique Entity Identifier from sam.
gov. This is free to apply for (this is not required for Individual Folk Artists) Now Playing Utah: You will need to upload a screenshot of your organization or event listing on NowPlayingUtah. com Work samples or other supporting documentation that demonstrates your organization's work Depending on the grant you are applying for, there will be different attachments/requirements that are specific to that grant opportunity.

663. 8457. ▸ Who decides which applications are funded?
All of our grants are first reviewed for eligibility and requirements by the grants staff. All eligible applications are then reviewed by a panel of community members assigned to each grant category. These panels score and comment on all applications and make funding recommendations.
These recommendations are then forwarded to the full Utah Arts & Museums Advisory Board who must approve all grant amounts before they can be awarded. Utah Division of Arts & Museums staff are not allowed to score, comment, or make funding recommendations for any applicant.
All panel review members are required to sign a conflict of interest policy and must recuse themselves from discussion and scoring of any application they may have a conflict with. ▸ How and when will we be notified if our grant request was funded? You will receive a notification via email or mail regarding the grant panels’ decision to fund (or not fund) your application.

Jerome Early-Career Project Grants is a grant from Forecast Public Art, funded by the Jerome Foundation, that funds the creation of new public art projects by early-career artists based in Minnesota. Two grants of $8,000 each are awarded annually to support temporary or permanent public artworks anywhere in Minnesota. The Local Cultural Council Program is a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council distributing $1,000 to $10,000 through a statewide network of 329 Local Cultural Councils (LCCs) representing every city and town in the Commonwealth. Each LCC awards funds based on local community cultural needs as assessed by council members. Eligible applicants include artists, nonprofits, schools, and organizations pursuing arts, humanities, and science projects. Applications are submitted directly to local councils and are typically due by October 16. Grants from most LCCs are reimbursement-based. Massachusetts Cultural Council funds the LCCs centrally, which then regrant to community projects.
