General Social Investment Program is a grant from the Freeport-McMoRan Copper and Gold Foundation that funds community development initiatives in areas where Freeport-McMoRan operates. Grants of $10,000 to $75,000 support NGOs, foundations, and community and government institutions working to build sustainable local capacity.
Eligible projects must focus on outcomes sustainable beyond Freeport-McMoRan operations, benefit the community broadly, and operate in foundation-supported regions including Arizona, Texas, New Jersey, Iowa, Connecticut, Louisiana, and New Mexico. The foundation views grants as investments in long-term community resilience, not charitable donations.
