Genesee County Household Expense Grant

Genesee County Household Expense Grant is sponsored by Genesee County / Metro Community Development. This grant provides individuals and households with financial assistance for rent, mortgage, and utility expenses in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applicants must reside in Genesee County (excluding certain communities) and show a loss of income due to the pandemic.

To qualify, your household must be considered low to moderate income, and be able to show a loss of income due to the pandemic . Qualified applicants may receive up to six months of household expense assistance .

Household income must be considered low to moderate income according to the chart below: Applicants must reside in Genesee County and NOT within one of the following non-participating communities: City of Flint, City of Clio, City of Davison, Village of Otter Lake, and Village of Lennon.

Last year, nearly 4,000 people experienced homelessness in the City of Flint and Genesee County community. 11% of this population were unsheltered, living on the streets or in other places not suitable for dwelling.
