Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer’s mission is to engage with Georgia’s breast cancer community to increase access to care and reduce disparities in cancer outcomes. Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer (formerly It’s the Journey ) is a local nonprofit established in 2002 by breast cancer survivor Randi Passoff.
Inspired by the Avon 3‑Day Breast Cancer Walk, Randi envisioned a gentler, more welcoming event – and so launched the Georgia 2‑Day Walk for Breast Cancer . Rather than walking 60 miles over three days and camping out, participants now walk 30 miles across two days and stay in hotels. Best of all, every dollar raised here in Georgia stays in Georgia, supporting local survivors and initiatives.
COUNTDOWN TO THE 2026 2-DAY WALK FOR BREAST CANCER 2026 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer Tickets Oct 3 @ 7:00 am – Oct 4 @ 12:00 pm The Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is an annual fundraising endurance walk that takes place on October 3-4, 2026. Participants will cover 30 miles across Cobb County over two days – Saturday and Sunday – staying overnight at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel.
Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer (formerly It’s the Journey) is a local nonprofit established in 2002 by breast cancer survivor Randi Passoff. Best of all, every dollar raised here in Georgia stays in Georgia, supporting local survivors and initiatives. With the funds from the walk, Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer is able to fund grants that serve over 100 counties in Georgia. These programs provide mammograms, clinical breast exams, genetic counseling and testing, biopsies, support services, education, and much more.
Many of our grants have a specific focus on under-served individuals in our community- uninsured and under-insured women for whom these types of breast health measures are often not available. Since 2002, we have raised over $20 million and awarded over 570 grants for vital breast health services throughout the state.
Walker Registration Information: 30 miles over two days, stays in the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly, $129 registration fee, $1200 fundraising commitment 20 miles on Saturday, $100 registration fee, $750 fundraising commitment 10 miles on Sunday, $100 registration, $500 fundraising commitment Student 2-Day Walker: $129 registration, $500 fundraising Student Sunday Walker: $50 registration, $250 fundraising Survivor Victory Lap: The last ½ mile of the Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer is led by those who have personally fought breast cancer.
They lead our walkers in to Closing Ceremonies to celebrate the achievement and impact of the Georgia 2-Day. Those who are registered as a 2-Day Walker or Crew do not need to register for this aspect, it’s included.
