The Office of the Vice President for Research & Economic Development provides the internal grant resources listed below to support new (early-stage) faculty research initiatives. Information about the submission, review and management of internal grants can be found below. These internal grants are managed through the Office of Research Development.

Internal Grants Peer Review Committee Internal Grant Awards, FY2016-FY2025 Faculty Internal Grants Program The Georgia State Faculty Internal Grants Program provides funding to support innovative research, scholarship and creative activities across all disciplines. This program is a multi-level, competitive internal funding initiative that positions faculty to succeed at various stages of the research process.

Wednesday, September 2, 2026 (Funding Period: January 1, 2027 – December 31, 2027) Wednesday, January 13, 2027 (Funding Period: July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2028) Revise & Resubmit Initiative Did you submit a strong proposal and receive encouraging reviewer feedback? The Office of Research wants to help you strengthen it for resubmission.

The Revise and Resubmit Initiative provides coordinated resubmission support and resources, including consultation, red-team review, editorial assistance, and, when justified, limited funding, to help faculty improve and resubmit competitive proposals to external sponsors.

This initiative supports proposals that received substantive reviewer feedback, favorable scores, and/or other indications that revision and resubmission may be worthwhile. This initiative is designed to support specific activities that will materially improve the competitiveness of a resubmission. Support provided through this initiative is not intended to provide general project support or bridge funding.

Instead, it is meant to help faculty address identified weaknesses, strengthen the proposal, and move it toward a successful external submission. Applications accepted on a rolling basis Other Internal Grant Opportunities Conference Grant Call for Proposals Conferences hosted by Georgia State full-time faculty (as primary PIs) on Georgia State's campuses or hosted virtually by Georgia State.

Accepting applications for FY2027 (conferences scheduled between July 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027) Dissertation Grant Call for Proposals Dissertation research by Georgia State doctoral graduate students who are within 2 years of completing their dissertation and obtaining their doctorate.

Implementation Science Pilot Grant (ISPG) Program The Georgia State Office of Research and the School of Public Health are pleased to announce a new funding opportunity to support pilot projects specifically on implementation science .
