Helping the Community to Get Moving with Physical Activity ADI provides catalytic grants that help trusted community organizations use physical activity to improve mental-health outcomes. Why Physical Activity + Mental Health Research and lived experience show that movement can: ✓ Reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression ✓ Improve mood, sleep, and emotional regulation ✓ Build social connection and reduce isolation The ADI exists to help turn this evidence into action by funding organizations that are already doing effective, on‑the‑ground work.
Through our Get Out and Get Active grants, ADI supports projects that: Use physical activity to improve mental health and well‑being Educate communities about the mental‑health benefits of movement Explore further research at the intersection of physical activity and mental health Grants are designed to be catalytic—helping organizations start, pilot, or expand programs that might not otherwise be possible.

Your support helps fund real, community‑based solutions that improve mental health through physical activity.
According to the current listing, eligibility includes: Public and private nonprofit organizations, faith-based organizations, state-recognized tribal governments with 501(c)(3) status, and state and local government entities. Applicants can submit proposals as individual organizations or as a collaborative with a lead agency.
