Gilead Sciences: Medical Education Supporting Ongoing Medical Education Ongoing education allows healthcare professionals (HCPs) to deliver care based on the latest advances in medicine. Gilead supports high-impact continuing medical education programs that expand the knowledge and skills of HCPs. There are two funding pathways: Independent Medical Education (IMED) and Medical-Scientific.
Independent Medical Education Funding We support medical education programs that are independent of Gilead’s influence and aligned to our therapeutic areas of interest and educational priorities, including: Conference support and coverage Online, live and multimode educational programs Quality improvement programs These grants support larger programs, often reaching thousands of HCPs If you have not submitted an IMED grant application before, please contact Gilead Independent Medical Education at imed@gilead.

For-profit medical education companies and nonprofit associations and organizations Medical-Scientific Funding Gilead has funded a range of Medical-Scientific programs, for example: Continuing medical education (CME accredited by ACCME or other organizations) Non-accredited CME in compliance with FDA guidelines Lecture series or symposia Tumor boards or grand rounds These grants support smaller programs, often focused on a local or targeted audience.
Requests should be submitted six to eight weeks prior to the program start date. Attendance at Medical-Scientific events should be open to professionals in the community. The principal speaker may not be employed by, or the audience limited to, the funded organization.

NCI Continuing Umbrella of Research Experiences (CURE) Academic Career Excellence (ACE) Award (K32) is a grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) that funds early postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups, to pursue research training in cancer-related fields. The K32 award supports fellows within 12 months prior to transitioning into, or within the first two years of, a postdoctoral position. The program, operated through NCI's Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD), aims to enhance the pool of qualified diverse cancer researchers. Beginning with the June 12, 2025 due date, the CURE ACE Award is available in both Independent Clinical Trial Required and Independent Clinical Trial Not Allowed versions. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents at time of award.
