Offering Funding for Community Initiatives in Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky Complete the Contact Form to request a Grant Application Submit Your Grant Application to the Gilliam Foundation Receive Notification in November of Grant Status We invest in initiatives that support various areas in our home region of Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. We accept applications all year long with decisions made in November.
Grant disbursements are made in December. The areas we support include: The fine arts (painting, sculpture, music, theater, etc.) are instrumental in creating a well-rounded and healthy community. We strive to support community art programs that can enrich people’s lives.
A community can only achieve growth if its people are healthy. Access to quality healthcare and wellness programs, and resources is key to the longevity of any community. A healthy community requires a healthy environment.
Environmental stewardship and preservation are a prime focus for our foundation. Many small towns have failed due to the lack of economic development. We seek partners who share our core values and desire to see the towns in Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky thrive and prosper.
We are dedicated to the support and success of the Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky regions. We desire to see families and communities grow and prosper. To achieve this, we partner with organizations that help build and enrich their local communities.
Education is a core focus of our family foundation. We support initiatives in early childhood education, K-12 education and higher education. We believe education can inspire change, encourage innovation, and promote progress.
The Gilliam Family Foundation has been providing funding for social initiatives in Southwest Virginia and Eastern Kentucky since 2010. Some of the organizations we have supported to date include: The Gilliam family has deep roots in Southwest Virginia. Both Leslie and Richard were born and raised in the region—Leslie grew up on a dairy farm in Jonesville, Virginia and Richard grew up on an apple orchard in Wise, Virginia.
We would love to hear from you about your initiative to improve the region we call home. All prospective Grantees must have 501(c)(3) status to be considered. We accept applications all year long with decisions made in November.
Grant disbursements are made in December.

CFNF Helping Today, Shaping Tomorrow Grant is a grant from the Community Foundation of North Florida that funds nonprofits addressing pressing challenges with programs and services of lasting impact in Florida's Big Bend region. Each year, CFNF awards ten grants of $5,000 each to eligible organizations. A separate Arts Nonprofit Grant Cycle awards five grants of $6,000 each for arts organizations in the same region. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations serving one or more of eleven counties including Leon, Gadsden, Jefferson, and Wakulla, with at least two years of operating history in the region.
