You give it, we grow it, and your generosity grants it back into our community. Granting over $1 Million every year to worthy charitable causes through the distribution of community grants to non-profit organizations for projects and programs that improve the quality of life in this remarkable place we call home.

Strengthening collaboration throughout the community creates stronger partnerships and plays a part in meeting our mission of connecting people, resources, and causes to promote sustainable impact towards the betterment of Grant County. When you donate $1, to any new or existing Give To Grant Fund, we will match it with $2! Your donation not only triples, but it will also help to improve Grant County’s overall quality of life and place in the areas of arts and culture, community development, education, health, and human services among other things.

Donating to these funds allows for flexibility in addressing emerging challenges, supporting innovative projects, and helping nonprofits facing unforeseen difficulties. That’s why we offer 120+ scholarship opportunities to Grant County students every year. And to make things simple, you can access ALL of them through our one Universal Scholarship Application. Complete one application, and you’ll automatically be considered for every scholarship you’re eligible for.

Thanks to our generous donors, there are scholarships available for students of every age, income level, academic ability, and athletic interest. Any U.S. citizen and eligible noncitizens pursuing higher education at an accredited university, college, or trade school—full-time or part-time—is welcome to apply. Please keep in mind that scholarship funding is limited and highly competitive.

All awards follow IRS regulations, Community Foundation policies, and donor-established criteria. Scholarships may only be used for qualified educational expenses as defined by the IRS (tuition, fees, and books). They cannot be used for other college costs, including room and board.

The Community Foundation has partnered with FreeWill, a secure, online will-maker, which will allow you to fill out your free, legally-valid will forms in less than 20 minutes. Just answer a few questions about yourself, your assets, and your wishes, and the will-making tool provides forms and instructions for how to make your will valid in the state where you live.

Click below to view several reasons why this is vitally important to do now! Bridge the Gap Loan Program A new alternative to payday lending in Grant County will provide financially vulnerable families with convenient, small-dollar, low-interest, flexible-term loans.

This innovative hybrid loan program will provide families with immediate access to the cash they need to provide some much-needed financial stability while also helping them build a savings account for future financial security. The alternative payday lending program is made possible through a unique partnership between Afena Federal Credit Union and the Community Foundation of Grant County.

The alternative payday lending program was designed to help financially under-resourced families in three ways: 1) By providing affordable financing to assist families in getting back on their feet once they return to work following the COVID-19 pandemic, 2) By helping financially under-resourced families build an emergency savings account, and 3) By helping income-vulnerable families improve their credit scores.

Grant County’s Resource Guide Connect Grant County is an online tool used to access the resources and caring power of our community. Over 290 resources listed all in one easy-to-use online directory. Organizations manage their own information to ensure it remains accurate and available to the community.

The directory allows community members to find local and surrounding resources; quality childcare providers, housing assistance programs, local food pantries, affordable family-friendly community events, and so much more, any time of day.
