Big Brothers Big Sisters of The Tennessee Valley - $7,500 Mentoring to Success: Men of Valor Recognition Project Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tennessee Valley’s Mentoring to Success: Men of Valor Recognition Project, in partnership with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, provides a scholarship and recognition initiative within the Men of Valor mentoring program.

This project awards two $1,500 scholarships to outstanding participants, provides professional attire (a suit and tie) for each graduate, and hosts an end-of-year celebration dinner as the capstone to etiquette training. The recognition project both rewards achievement and motivates continued participation.

With continued support, most participants are positioned to become fully self-sustaining within six months to a year. The Life-Meal Program provides daily hot meals for those in need, the Life-Box Program distributes fresh groceries to families, and the Life-Pantry Program offers open-market access for neighbors seeking support. With safe and dependable storage, thousands of pounds of donated food can be preserved each month, reducing waste and ensuring Huntsville’s most vulnerable residents have consistent access to nutritious meals.
