Care Fund | Grace Loncar Foundation Skip to content 2026-2027 GLF Teen Board Applications are open until June 1. Apply today! 🍓 From 2017-2022 we awarded a $10,000 academic scholarship for students actively involved and invested in mental health advocacy.
In 2022, we transitioned from an academic scholarship to providing financial support for teenagers and young adults in need of mental health treatment. In 2024, we established the Grace Loncar Foundation Mental Healthcare Financial Aid Fund ( GLF Care Fund ).
From October 2024 to April 2026 the GLF Care Fund has provided more than $189,000 in financial assistance for mental health services to North Texans who would otherwise go without care. These funds open doors to treatment and crisis support for young people and suicide loss survivors facing economic hardship.
The GLF Care Fund is a dedicated fund established solely to provide financial aid to North Texas teens and young adults in need of mental healthcare and survivors of suicide loss. The Grace Loncar Foundation partners with DFW mental healthcare providers to make care more accessible to teens, young adults, and survivors of suicide loss in need.
A Care Partner requests financial assistance on behalf of a client with proven financial hardship, and GLF will use the Care Fund to pay the provider for their services on behalf of the client. Our Care Partners represent all levels of psychological care from weekly therapy, outpatient care, and residential treatment.
If you are a North Texas mental healthcare provider in good standing, contact us if you would like to become a Care Partner. If you are North Texas teen, young adult, or survivor of suicide loss in need of financial aid for mental healthcare, have your care provider contact us. We can help!

*If you (or someone you know) are in immediate danger of hurting yourself or others, call 911. “Our partnership and collaboration with the Grace Loncar Foundation has made a significant impact on the wellbeing of our clients. Several families who were on the verge of reducing session frequency due to financial restraints were able to keep their weekly sessions in place due to Grace Loncar Foundation’s financial assistance.
These ongoing sessions have helped several adolescents move from a place of helplessness and despair to hopefulness about the future after experiencing trauma or losing a loved one due to suicide. ” Laura McLaughlin HeadFirst Mental Health Initiative "The Grace Loncar grants enable me to reach families who might otherwise hesitate to seek help, especially when they’re facing frightening and unpredictable challenges with their children.
And many of these families are typically priced out of high-quality psychological evaluations simply because they work in lower-paying helping professions. The streamlined contracting and predictable grant processes free me up to dedicate energy tailoring each evaluation creatively and responsively.
I routinely use advanced assessment tools, take the time to explain results clearly to both parents and teens, and actively take part in interdisciplinary care-team meetings with medical professionals across the city. It is a huge help." I met with the client yesterday from the Grace Loncar Mental Health Fund.
Personally, I find this to be such an exceptional initiative and feel honored to be part of it! I just wrapped up my last session with my client who received funding by the foundation. My client expressed how therapy has helped her acknowledge her feelings better, feel more able to handle life, and give herself more grace and understanding.
She said, "This has been a big blessing; I'm so grateful". After a devastating loss, this opportunity to process with a therapist at The Center made possible by the Grace Loncar Foundation gave her the motivation she needed. She would not have been able to seek therapy, process, and work toward healing without it.
I wanted to make sure it was communicated what an impact this has on people’s lives, and I can say she is in a much better place physically, emotionally, and spiritually, from the first session to now. LPC The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology “GLF (and the Care Fund) are an answer to the prayers of many and has brought me and several of our staff to tears....
I just have this overwhelming feeling that Grace herself is guiding this. ” Susan Glassmoyer, Vice President for Development at The Center for Integrative Counseling and Psychology An inaugural Care Partner “As a counselor, one of the hardest things I have to witness are people who need help, want help, and yet are unable to access help.
I have a duty to do right by those in need, however I am also in a position where helping is my profession, the way I provide for my own family. After working in this field for some 18 years, it's never gotten any easier knowing that there are people who are deserving of and desperate for mental health care, yet cannot access it.
Since being introduced to The Grace Loncar Foundation, those heartbreaking moments where we have to refer clients out for services happen less and less often. Instead we can now share with prospective clients their options for assistance, alleviating both their burden of access and our own burden of hopelessness.
I know through partnerships like this, clients are afforded the opportunity to do the deep, rich, life-changing work that happens in therapy. With such limited funding towards mental health care, specifically here in Texas, the mission of the GLF is a worthy cause deserving in its own right. Thank you Grace Loncar Foundation, from our practice, our clinicians, and the client's lives you are changing.
” Amanda Esquivel, Owner and Lead Counselor Room for Change, Garland, TX “Hello, my daughter and I wanted to reach out and express how grateful we are for your foundation and your assistance. She just graduated from her residential program which would not have been possible without the Grace Loncar Foundation. We are taking it day by day but I remain very hopeful.
We will be completing an assessment with a local mental healthcare provider this week for continuing care. After we watched Grace's story on Amazon, my daughter asked that I thank you all again. It's truly amazing how such tragedy can bring such hope and meaning...
” Parent of a Care Fund aid recipient “As a mental health provider, I have witnessed firsthand how the Care Fund removes financial barriers and opens the door to healing for individuals who might otherwise go without support. One of my clients recently shared that this assistance was the only reason she is able to continue therapy during a deeply vulnerable time.
Because of this fund, she's able to continue services without a financial barrier. The Care Fund doesn’t just provide therapy; it restores lives. I fully support GLF’s mission and hope to see this vital work continue to grow.
” Adsum Counseling LLC North Texas “As a therapist who partners with the Grace Loncar Foundation, I’ve had the honor of witnessing firsthand the life-changing impact their support provides. Their funding removes financial barriers for young people in crisis—offering them not only access to consistent therapy, but also a sense of hope, stability, and care during some of their most vulnerable moments.
Because of the Foundation’s generosity, I’ve been able to walk alongside clients as they begin to heal from trauma, navigate depression, and rediscover their sense of worth. Many of these clients may never have otherwise had access to mental health care. ” Meredith Moderi Co-founder of Poppy Counseling "The Grace Loncar Foundation has had an incredible impact on my work as a therapist and, more importantly, on the lives of my clients.
Their generous funding makes it possible for individuals and families with the greatest need to receive free therapy services they would not otherwise be able to access. Many of my clients have experienced unimaginable challenges and barriers, and the support from the Foundation has allowed them to get the help they deserve without the added burden of financial stress.
Because of the Grace Loncar Foundation, my clients have hope, healing, and the opportunity to move forward. I am truly grateful for their dedication to making mental health care accessible to those who need it most." Bailey Hill Licensed Professional Counselor - Associate, Co-founder of Poppy Counseling “We are so grateful to the Loncar foundation.
It’s because of this amazing and VERY important foundation, that my girls are able to receive therapy. This foundation is arguably the most important piece of fixing the mental health crisis in kids. This foundation is saving lives.
” Mother of Care Fund recipients Thank you for your support with providing funding for youth to be able to financially be assisted with mental health programs such as Intensive Outpatient! Today a youth was able to start our program in order to address his mental health symptoms! We are so thankful for your support and the mission of the GLC Foundation!
