Projects that use AI-powered solutions are particularly competitive, as the foundation prioritizes technology-driven approaches that can be replicated and scaled at country, regional, and global levels. Past AI-related grants have supported projects like WaterNet, an AI-powered dataset mapping rural waterways to connect communities with healthcare and education. In addition to cash grants, eligible nonprofits can access Cisco's Technology Grant Program for donated networking, security, and collaboration technology. The LOI process is relatively lightweight compared to full proposals, making it accessible for organizations whose work aligns with Cisco's focus areas.
