Global Sojourns Giving Circle HOPE A VOICE CHOICE A CHANCE CHANGING LIVES, ONE GIRL, ONE BOY AT A TIME. Global Sojourns Giving Circle (GSGC) is a funding organizations that is dedicated to empowering adolescent girls in Southern Africa to break the cycle of poverty. GSGC supports and funds local community led organisations .

These organisations provide safe spaces through after school clubs and ongoing mentorship . The aim of these clubs is to keep adolescent girls in school , minimising school drop outs and teenage pregnancy as well as promoting gender equality . We believe that gender equality comes from educating and supporting both genders thus, the clubs support youth of both genders.

The primary age group is from 10-19. GSGC also supports and facilitates an Alumni network . Through this the aim is to get youth into further education , work placements and employment .

As part of this, GSGC provides funding bursaries for youth to go into further education. WE CREATE A RIPPLE EFFECT When girls are empowered, they embrace new ideas, opportunities, and ways of doing things. A girl who finds a path beyond abuse, poverty, or hardship is more likely to build a better future for herself, her family, and her community.

Including boys in this journey creates allies for gender equity. With mentorship, they grow into men who respect and support girls, recognizing that empowered girls strengthen communities. When boys champion equality and challenge harmful norms, they help create a future where all young people can succeed.

If you’re born a girl in many African countries, your future is often shaped by circumstances beyond your control. And that future can be difficult: gender discrimination, limited resources, few support systems, and even fewer opportunities to change your situation. With some of the highest HIV rates in the world, many children lose one or both parents to AIDS.

Despite a tradition of extended family support, girls are the least likely to receive it, and are last to be sent to school when resources run low. When girls are empowered and educated, they imagine new possibilities, build brighter futures, and help transform their communities from within. Boys for Girl Empowerment Boys are key to shifting the norms that hold girls back.

Many grow up with limited ideas of masculinity and power—beliefs that reinforce cycles of inequality. Boys clubs offer space for reflection, mentorship, and emotional growth, helping boys become respectful, empathetic leaders. When boys understand the value of gender equity, they become powerful allies in building communities where girls can thrive.
