Grant Program | GLUT1 Deficiency Foundation investing in a brighter future The GLUT1 Deficiency Foundation’s Research Grant Program offers funding for research directly related to GLUT1 Deficiency. Since 2010, the G1DF has awarded $1. 4 million to projects to help drive research progress toward better understanding, easier diagnosis, and better treatments.
These grants are made possible through the generosity of our donors - friends, family members, classmates, teachers, neighbors, teammates, and others who are inspired by someone they love and care about who is affected by GLUT1 Deficiency.
These grants, typically in the range of $10,000 to $50,000, are intended to provide seed funding in areas identified in our Research Compass that have not been fully explored or provide funding to sustain or provide resources for ongoing laboratory research programs.
Research Grant Awardees are required to give updates on their work throughout the grant cycle and encouraged to present their findings at our biennial conference and poster session. Researcher seed grant funding from the GLUT1 Deficiency Foundation has led to multiple large-scale, multi-million dollar grants from the NIH and other institutions.
*The G1DF maximizes the direct impact on research progress with a 0% indirect cost (IDC) rate on grants awarded. There is no current funding cycle open for more substantial grants, however please contact us to inquire about ongoing opportunities for small scale funding and assistance with access to research tools.
