Go Outside Grants | N. C. Youth Outdoor Engagement Commission Funding for Field Trips and Structures Go Outside ‘GO’ Grants provide North Carolina students opportunities for outdoor experiences and to learn by doing.
North Carolina educators are encouraged to apply for grant funding for outdoor field trips, visiting programs, and educational structures. Important Funding Information (Updated July 1st 2025): Please be advised that we cannot currently award GO Grants until funding is received from the State.
We will continue to hold applications for future review that have been previously submitted, but the application will now be closed until further notice. Youth Sports Grants will be open for application as of July 1st 2025. Up to $2,500 to host visting outdoor education programs.
Up to $5,000 in funding for field trips with outdoor activities and learning components. Up to $15,000 in funding for outdoor learning structures and equipment, including classrooms, greenhouses, and apiaries. Advanced Structure Funding Up to $20,000 in funding for outdoor learning structures and equipment, including archery ranges, agricultural learning facilities, docks, and nature trails.
If you need to amend your existing GO Grant, you may complete and submit an Amendment form. Please ensure you do not make any changes until the amendment request has been approved by the Commission. Also note that, per our guidelines, we cannot amend grants to include additional funds once a grant has been awarded.

The Robotics Grant Program is a grant from the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) that funds school-based robotics programs for elementary, middle, and high school students. Awarded through a competitive application process, the program provides up to $3,500 to eligible local education agencies (LEAs) in Alabama. Applicants must be public school systems submitting on behalf of schools with K–12 students.
