Gold Futures Challenge is sponsored by Gold House. The Gold Futures Challenge offers awards for AAPI-serving organizations registered as 501(c)(3) nonprofits or government organizations. This grant encourages innovative solutions that benefit the AAPI community and help them feel seen, heard, empowered, and united.

Learn more about our 2023 finalists Asian American Futures and Gold House are proud to host the annual Gold Futures Challenge, an online model for philanthropy that awards ten prizes ranging from $25,000 to $100,000 to AAPI-serving organizations that ensure our communities are Seen, Heard, Empowered, and United. Every cohort of winners receives invaluable non-cash rewards in addition to the grant.

They receive access to technical platforms and become a part of the Gold Futures family of organizations, which includes peer relationships, leadership training, and organizational training. The GFC is an open call for proposals from AAPI-serving organizations working to ensure AAPI individuals and communities are Seen, Heard, Empowered and United. Means accurate and meaningful representation for AAPI individuals and communities.

Means a strong, unified voice that effectively advocates for AAPI needs and causes. Means ensuring that all AAPIs have the resources and agency to positively affect their own lives and the lives of others. ​​Means a unified, pan-AAPI identity that uplifts diverse AAPI ethnic groups and allies with Black, Latino, Indigenous communities and other communities of color.

The Gold Futures Challenge annually awards ten prizes totaling $500,000. Prize amounts are determined by public vote from a pool of ten Finalists chosen by our Selection Committee. 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th place NHPI Prize sponsored by JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Awarded to Ma Ka Hana Ka 'Ike The mission of Ma Ka Hana Ka ʻIke (In Working, One Learns) is to provide Hāna youth with a way to learn that makes sense to them, that builds their self-esteem and shows them they have the power to change their future. In addition to monetary prizes, our winners will receive non-monetary awards and opportunities.

All TEN FINALISTS will receive membership into the Gold House Future Network All TEN FINALISTS will be invited to participate in the Node Institute, a series of professional development workshops hosted by Node , a nonprofit social education network that empowers AAPI community leaders All TEN FINALISTS will receive a 1-year subscription to Catchafire , an organization that strengthens the social good sector by matching professionals with nonprofits who need their skills The Dinner Guys Giving Circle will offer a mini-grant of $2,000 to an LGBTQ+ led organization that provides services and/or advocacy efforts for AANHPI LGBTQ+ populations experiencing homelessness.

The Dinner Guys seeks innovative and impactful projects that address the immediate needs of this population and promote lasting change.

An anonymous donor will offer $25,000 in grant funding to an organization outside of the top 10 doing impactful work in Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander communities In addition to providing the Top 5 finalists with subscriptions to their platform, Resilia will sponsor a Gold Futures Challenge Applicant with a $1,000 mini grant. Dinner Guys Giving Circle will sponsor a mini grant for organizations that focus on AAPI LGBTQ+ elders.

This is an opportunity for organizations who serve this target population to receive additional funding. The Beyond 2 Cents Giving Circle will award a $2000 mini grant to any LGBTQ+ AAPI paid staff organization focusing on leadership development. All Gold Futures Challenge applicants that fit this criteria are eligible.

The Gold Futures Challenge is a departure from historically elitist, top-down approaches to grantmaking, which have left the needs of AAPI communities largely ignored. GFC’s online funding and voting model not only democratizes our grantmaking, but also increases visibility for AAPI-serving organizations—meaning new audiences, donors, volunteers, and potential partners.

In 2020, Diana was the first National Political and Organizing Director for She the People, a national network of women of color working to transform our democracy. Diana was profiled as “one of Boston’s most powerful thought leaders” in Boston Magazine for her work and has been a featured speaker at the Center for American Progress in Washington, D. C.

and at several colleges, including Wellesley College, Northeastern University, Dartmouth College and Salem State University where she gave the annual convocation address. Diana was a former candidate for the Massachusetts State Senate. She carried the city of Boston and outraised her seven opponents in the race.
