Government Employee Scholarship

Government Employee Scholarship is a scholarship from the UC Davis Graduate School of Management that provides significant financial support for qualifying UC system employees pursuing graduate business education. Available programs include the Sacramento Part-Time MBA, Bay Area Part-Time MBA, Sacramento Part-Time Master of Management, and Bay Area Part-Time Master of Management.

Eligible applicants must be faculty or staff employed at 75% FTE or higher at UC Davis, UCOP, UC Agriculture and Natural Resources, UC Law, UCSF, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, or Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The program offers up to 20 scholarships per year for new students beginning in 2026.

Applicants must first be admitted through the general admissions process, and award amounts may be reduced by other GSM funding received.

Scholarships can be used for the Sacramento Part-Time MBA program , the Bay Area Part-Time MBA program , the Sacramento Part-Time Master of Management program or the Bay Area Part-Time Master of Management program . How much are the scholarships?

If selected, you will receive: Bay Area Part-Time MBA Up to $30,000 per academic year (renewable for one year), for a maximum total award of $60,000 Sacramento Part-Time MBA Up to $25,000 per academic year (renewable for one year), for a maximum total award of $50,000 Bay Area Part-Time MM Up to $25,000 total Sacramento Part-Time MM Up to $25,000 total There are 10 awards per program each year available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Start your application to the UC Davis Part-Time MBA or MM program. In the application, under “Program Information”, select your UC Davis Affiliation: UC Davis, UCOP, UCANR, UC Law, UCSF, LLNL or LBNL employee.

Then, in the application under “Supplemental Materials”, upload these required scholarship documents : 1-2-page essay on your current and future contributions to UC Davis, UCOP, UCANR, UC Law, UCSF, LLNL or LBNL describing the positive impact you have already made on your campus community, and how as an employee you would contribute to the richness of the UC Davis MBA or MM learning environment.
