You may be eligible for Grant Diversion provided you: * meet the Cash Assistance eligibility requirements, * are eligible for at least one dollar of Cash Assistance in the approval month, and * have not received Cash Assistance in the application month or Grant Diversion in the month before the application month, and * have not received Grant Diversion in the 12 months before the application month.

(Grant Diversion can be received only once in a 12 month period) Cash Assistance eligibility must be determined before the Grant Diversion one-time lump sum cash payment can be released (if you accept the option). You cannot apply for Grant Diversion if you are currently receiving TANF Cash Assistance. ## Do I have to have a job offer to be eligible for Grant Diversion?

The Grant Diversion benefit is intended to help a family move from long term Cash Assistance to full-time employment, but employment does not need to be lined up. ## How is the lump-sum received? Just like Cash Assistance, the Grant Diversion benefit is received on theElectronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) Card.
