Grant for a research project on artificial intelligence # Grant for a research project on artificial intelligence The Research Foundation is opening a call for applications for a grant for researchers and research groups operating at Finnish universities for a research project on artificial intelligence, which will investigate and assess what artificial intelligence means for the economy.
In the initiative, the selected research group will receive a grant of 200,000 euros annually for the years 2027–2029. The project is intended to last a maximum of three years and the Foundation is committed to funding the project in two one and a half year phases. The first phase is expected to start no later than 1 January 2027.
The purpose of the grant is to support a research group that examines the impacts of artificial intelligence on the economy and the market from one or more perspectives. Project proposals that bring together different areas of economics and/or finance research are particularly welcome. In accordance with the Foundation's priorities, research groups conducting economic and finance research can apply for funding.
Also considered are so-called applicant consortia consisting of several research groups, which include, in addition to researchers working in economics and finance, researchers from other fields specialising in artificial intelligence issues.
