Grant Program — Pink Alliance Community Impact / Financial Reports Memorial Gifts/Planned Giving Surviving & Thriving Luncheon 25 Things I wish people would have told me Financial Need/Low-Cost Mammograms In early 2016, Pink Alliance launched a competitive grant initiative for breast health and cancer support grants for programs and initiatives that will support the organization’s mission of providing informative resources and offering medical treatments to those with limited means in the Brazos Valley.

Pink Alliance hosts an annual community breast cancer awareness luncheon, Surviving & Thriving , which celebrates cancer survivorship and furthers breast cancer awareness efforts. Proceeds from Surviving & Thriving and other Pink Alliance fundraising events serve to fund the organization's annual grant program. Since its inception, Pink Alliance has awarded $575,000 in grants to our local community health partners.

The grant initiative considers funding requests to support effective, established programs, or to help launch innovative, new programs. Entities eligible to apply for a grant from Pink Alliance include hospitals, medical providers and non-profit organizations providing mammograms, diagnostic services, and prostheses/bras to eligible persons.

Services considered for grant funding include mammograms, diagnostic mammography services, biopsies, sonograms, MRIs, breast prostheses/bras, and breast health educational initiatives for eligible residents in the Brazos Valley region, which includes Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson, and Washington counties.

Pink Alliance does not provide grant funding for individuals; administrative or operating costs; testimonial dinners, fundraising events, or marketing events; political purposes, either directly or indirectly; fraternity or sorority purposes; other grant making entities, for example “pass-through” organizations or companies; coverage of past operating deficits or debts; capital campaigns or endowments; matching grants; or residents/entities outside of the Brazos Valley region.

Pink Alliance is delighted to announce its Grant Initiative Program to benefit women with limited means in the Brazos Valley through support and programs for breast cancer health. Over the past year, 600 of these women in the Brazos Valley have received mammograms, including ultrasounds and biopsies for diagnostic services.

Additionally, women going through cancer treatment have benefitted from prostheses, compression garments, and lymphedema pumps. Pink Alliance and its partnering support agencies are making a difference in the lives of hundreds of women who need breast cancer screening and support services.

Grant awards will be determined through an annual competitive application, review, and recommendation process conducted by an independent and anonymous grants review committee and with subsequent approval by Pink Alliance Board of Directors.

The grants review committee will be comprised of six [6] individuals: 1 Non-voting Pink Alliance Board Member (who serves as the convener, distributes grant review information to committee members) 2 Individuals from College Station (1 female / 1 male) 2 Individuals from Bryan (1 female / 1 male) 1 Individual representing the Brazos Valley at-large Pink Alliance grants are a matter of public record.

What are additional funding requirements? Pink Alliance requests that grant recipients publicly acknowledge the services provided through Pink Alliance / Surviving & Thriving funds. While respecting patient privacy as required by HIPAA, funding recipients of Pink Alliance grants will be encouraged to share examples and provide patient stories regarding the impact of Pink Alliance funding.

Grantee agrees to submit a written year-end report summarizing expenditures and the goals the grant has helped to accomplish. com 6 organizations serving the Brazos Valley were awarded grants totaling $100,000 7 organizations serving the Brazos Valley were awarded grants totaling $129,351 CHI St. Joseph Oncology Services $28,000 Provide 3 complete kits (L-Dex U400) for the early detection of lymphedema in breast cancer patients. Early detection results in more successful treatment for patients.

Grant includes 3 sets of Dualtab electrodes which would service 100 patients. Brazos Valley Community Action Agency [dba Health Point] $15,000 Screening and diagnostic mammograms for 250 eligible patients. Provide free or low-cost breast cancer detection screening, follow-up diagnostic care and access to affordable breast cancer treatment via mobile mammogram units.

Provide mammograms, bone density, needle biopsies for eligible patients. Mammograms will be provided for no less than 230 patients. Texas A&M Physicians Family Medicine $30,000 Provide mobile mammograms for 50 individuals in Robertson, Grimes and Madison counties.

Provide an additional 80 mammograms in Bryan/College Station location. Provide up to 29 ultrasounds and 5 biopsies. Prosthetics, mastectomy bras and lymphedema supplies.

Funding provided on a reimbursement basis as products are purchased. FINAL IMPACT SUMMARY OF 2017 GRANTS 4 organizations serving the Brazos Valley were awarded grants totaling $79,324 Mastectomy and compression garments for breast cancer patients who have no insurance or who cannot meet the co-payment of their insurance. CHI St.

Joseph Health $14,324 Equipment for a MammoCare Clinical Breast Exam Room. This equipment is used to educate providers who serve patients in rural areas of the Brazos Valley. Diagnostic equipment for breast healthcare.

The facility that received the equipment serves women who are below the poverty level and have no insurance. Brazos Valley Community Action Agency $25,000 300 screening mammograms for women in the Brazos Valley who have no insurance and their income is below 150% of the federal poverty level.
