Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine Fellows receive training in healing-oriented, evidence-informed integrative medicine that qualifies for board certification through ABOIM and is recognized by the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine. Physicians (MD, DO, ND), pharmacists, advanced practice registered nurses, dentists, and licensed physician assistants may be eligible to apply for the Fellowship.

The Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine Fellowship The Fellowship in Integrative Medicine is a 1,000-hour, two-year online program with clinical mentorship and three immersive retreats in Arizona—designed to fit the schedules of practicing clinicians while providing hands-on, transformative education. Selectively accepting applications for Fall 2026-2028 (Starts August 3, 2026) and Spring 2027-2028 (Starts February 8, 2027).

The Fellowship in Integrative Medicine application can be completed in just 45 to 60 minutes. The Spring 2027-2029 Class starts February 8, 2027. Apply today. The Fellowship curriculum is divided into 13 Units, typically 6-10 weeks long, created by nationally recognized experts and faculty from various disciplines, modalities, and philosophies.

Nutritional health: The latest nutritional approaches and dietary recommendations for general health, as well as specific diseases and disease conditions. Botanicals and dietary supplements: Evidence-based clinical indications, identification of quality products, and supplement-drug interactions.

Mind-body medicine: Impact of emotional, mental, social and behavioral factors on health and how to incorporate meditation and other mind-body techniques into clinical practice. Traditional Whole Systems of Healing: Uses, benefits and recommendations for Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, manual medicine and homeopathy.

Week 3 (Month 24) -- Art of Integration: Graduation Experiential Week - Next steps in advancing the practice and policy of Integrative Medicine, ending with a graduation ceremony.

The Fellowship in Practice model offers a unique opportunity for participants to advance their clinical practice while pursuing board certification. With flexible learning and available scholarships, Fellows can immediately apply integrative medicine training to patient care. The Integrative Medicine Fellowship is designed for physicians (MD, DO) and open to APRNs, pharmacists (PharmD), dentists (DDS/DMD), PAs, and license-eligible NDs. Fellows immediately apply cutting-edge, evidence-based integrative medicine to patient care.

The Fellowship admits physicians (MD and DO), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (NP, CNM, CNS, CRNS), Physician Assistants (PA), Dentists (DDS/DMD) and NDs who have completed the exception process with the admissions teams. You must have a current license. You cannot be in a residency program unless you are a part of the IMFR program.
