Grants for Domestic Relations Cases

Grants for Domestic Relations Cases is sponsored by Ohio Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and The Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation. This partnership provides grants to Ohio's legal aid organizations to support critical legal services for domestic relations cases, with a significant portion dedicated to addressing the civil legal needs of domestic violence survivors.

AAML Foundation Update: Announcing 2025-2026 Grant Recipients - aaml. org The AAML Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025-2026 grant recipients. The Foundation awarded 51 grants, chosen from a robust 95 applications, for a total of $322,000.

This is the largest number of grants, for the largest dollar amount funded in a single year, in the history of the Foundation. Thanks to the AAML Fellows for their support and generosity, which made this outcome possible. Inclusive of this year’s grants, the Foundation has awarded more than $3.

15 million in grants since 1992 to almost 200 organizations. Of these grants, there are four that are awarded to organizations that focus their work in an area of special meaning to the grant’s namesake: The Michael S. J.

Albano Grant is reserved for a grantee committed to improving the lives of children with an emphasis on promoting education, the advancement of women or members of other special groups, as well as those interested in scouting. This year’s recipient of this grant is Haven Hills, Inc., in Canoga Park, California.

The Honorable Anne Lamkin Durward Access to Justice Grant is awarded to a grantee committed to overcoming language barriers for low-income domestic relations and family court litigants through direct, pro bono representation, interpretation services for court proceedings, informational/educational sessions and/or counseling services to indigent family law clients.

This year’s recipient of this grant is the CASA Board Volunteer Association in Akron, Ohio. The Donn C. Fullenweider Grant is bestowed upon an agency that provides legal services and/or educates lawyers.

This year’s recipient of this grant is Unchained At Last in Westfield, New Jersey. The Jim and Lea Hennenhoefer Grant is reserved each year for the grantee demonstrating or providing an innovative approach to, or unique services for families in need. This year’s recipient of this grant is Advokids in Corte Madera, California.
