Grants & Funding - Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council Keep up to date with changes to our services The Council provides financial support to clubs, athletes, coaches, and officials in Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough to help them perform at a high level and develop within their respective sports.
Funding is also available for sports events taking place within Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough to promote and enhance sport participation, as well as to bring real economic benefits and raise the profile of the Borough. Please note that Sports must be affiliated to a recognised governing body with the Home Countries. Visit Sport NI for more information.
Please note that the Sport and Leisure Grant is a competitive programme, and all funding calls and awards are dependent on the budget available. Sport and Leisure Grants Timetable Sport and Leisure Grants open four times throughout the year. The table below outlines the opening and closing dates for each call for applications.
The following grants are now closed , as both grant schemes are now been fully committed and we are no longer accepting applications: The capital grant to sports clubs The bursaries for athletes For example, if an applicant applies anytime during call 2 (1 June – 31 July) all applications will be scored during the month of August and prepared for decision at Committee during the month of September.
