Fund for Veterans Assistance - Grantseekers ⋆ Texas Veterans Commission The FVA grant portal will be open from October 2, 2026 @ 5:00pm (CST) through December 2, 2026 @ 5:00pm (CST) TVC opens the Request for Applications (RFA) for grant application submission for 60 days between October and December each year. Exact dates are posted in early September.
Organization Type * Please Choose One Local or Regional Government 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization 501 (c)4 Veterans Service Organization 501(c)19 Posts or Organizations Distribution to eligible organizations Every grant cycle, the Commission encourages eligible charitable organizations, local government agencies, and Veteran Service Organizations with veteran-specific programs and services to apply for grant funding during the application window.
All applications must be timely submitted electronically through the Grants Portal (Fluxx). No paper applications or other methods of submission will be considered for funding.
The Needs Assessment of Texas Veterans The Commission is authorized to use funds appropriated to the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance program to create grants addressing the needs of Texas veterans and their families, as determined through veteran needs assessment studies [PDF, 35. 30 MB] . Organization applications entered into the Grants Portal (Fluxx) outside of the application window will be deleted prior to the opening of the next application cycle. Organizations new to the Grants Portal (Fluxx) are required to create a new account. Users from previous grant cycles should use their existing accounts.

Units of local government. (City and County Governments). Texas chapters of IRS Code §501(c)(19) Posts or organizations of past or present members of the United States Armed Forces.
IRS Code §501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations authorized to do business in Texas. IRS Code §501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are required to be in existence longer than 2 years from the effective date of exemption on the IRS Determination letter. Texas chapters of IRS Code §501(c)(4) Veteran’s service organizations.
Units of federal or state government, state agencies, or colleges and universities. Organizations that have not fulfilled and maintained all legal requirements to operate in Texas. Organizations that do not have current operations in Texas or a Texas-based chapter.
